About Paul Johnson
I was born on December 29, 1974. I am the youngest of five children. I have one brother and three sisters. I was adopted by Grace and Phillip Johnson and raise in South Carolina. My mother and father divorced when I was five and I was raised by my mother until I was 17. My mother became ill and I had to quit school at 17 and started working full time to pay bills. I receive my GED in Nov. of 1992. My mother moved here to North Carolina shortly after, to stay with one of my sisters here in Lexington N.C.

I joined the Marine Corps in April 1993. From there I went to Paris Island for Boot camp, then to Camp Geiger  for Marine Combat Training, after that I attended my Military Occupational School. I was stationed at Camp Lejeune from 1993-1996 at 8th Motor Transport Battalion. While there, I attended the Corporals Leadership Course, and I was a squad leader for my platoon. I later attended school to become an environmental protection officer. After graduation I took the duty assignment as the Hazardous Material Compliance Officer for my company. I remained in that position until I was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort S.C. MWSS 273.

While I was there I was a section leader for my platoon. Later I was transferred to the Base Motor Transport Div. While there I served as the Base Motor Transport Chief of Operations.

In September 1999 I was stationed in Okinawa Japan. I served as Platoon Sergeant, Truck Master, and Motor Transport Chief. I transferred again to Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

I was assigned to Combat Service Support Group 3. I served there as Platoon Leader and Platoon Sergeant. While I was there I attended the Staff NCO Academy and Hawaii Pacific University and studied Business Management.

In January 2004 I was transferred to Camp Pendleton were I was assigned to the 1st Marine Division, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, while there I served as Section Chief until August 30, 2005 when I was released from active duty. I served combat tours in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq.

I have a great Family with my supportive wife Fe and my stepson Jeffrey. We’ve been together for eight great years and have been married for five of them. I moved here to Lexington N.C. in September 2005, and we now call North Carolina home.
